Traditionally, if you were to do an interview with a radio station, they would invite you down to the station.  This is great when you live nearby.  What’s even better is when an out of town radio station seeks you out for your expertise, then interviews you by telephone.  This even gives the implied endorsement that you are “nationally” known.  This is how we record your interview.

The Reality About Doing This On Your Own

I’ll tell you exactly how to do it because when I do, you'll see the incredible value of working with me.  You could book some time at a recording studio.  You could seek out a “voice over” actor to interview you.  You could do this in a studio, or using a teleconference service if you have the right people.  You can invest in some expensive equipment with a steep learning curve.

Look, you can do all of this yourself and spend the next 5 years trying to find the right people to help you, but you’ll be hard pressed to find someone with all 3 expert skills I have- 1) The technical skill 2) The voice talent 3) The marketing and selling expertise! First Roadblock, if you use a teleconference service or buy some cheap telephone device to record phone calls, most of it is designed to record both ends of the call over the phone.  Meaning, both the interviewer and the interviewee will sound like they are “on the phone”.  On a radio interview, the “DJ” should sound high quality because they use their studio microphone.  Only the caller should be “on the phone”. 

Second Roadblock, would you find an interviewer that fully understands what you are trying to create?  Who would write the script? 

Third Roadblock, If you use a recording studio, do they have the equipment necessary to pull it off?  And at what cost to you?

I will tell you that script writing and hiring a voice over actor, plus training that person to interview you could take months and cost you thousands- before you record a single word!  Then the recording studio fees, and the editing time on top of that.  For most folks, that's already enough to turn them off.

It is great if you can get on 'real' radio or TV, but keep in mind that the hosts of those programs are working for their listeners who want content, NOT salespitches.  In fact, they will often block you from giving out your information.  Reality is, you should have both types of interviews in your marketing arsenal.
